Might get this, might not. Don't do contracts so it would be a simple case of buying and selling. Something most people I know do. You lot (Americans) should start doing the same and stop being beholden to 24 month contracts.

I think everyone should not forget that Microsoft is rich, and to apologist going "HA! Apple is rich as well", perhaps the point should be made that Microsoft is way richer.
Remember Palm? It used to be the top handheld, where is it today?
Even Sony's PS is slowly on its way down, afterall the marketshare that Microsoft is gaining, albeit tiny, is what used to be Sony's!
Trouble is Microsoft has a B$ monopoly going for it in the OS and office productivity markets, they can easily afford to blow billions to make Zune work. Heck, they blown hundreds of millions literally on a whim to stand up against the EU (on principle of their evilness!), I don't see why they won't blow at least as much cash on a line that'd effectively cripple their next competitor in the other market (MacOS vs Vista).
Without all that extra slush funds from iPod sales Apple would be hard pressed to keep the quarterlies up, that said I really hope to get an ultimate cool iPod this Paris expo :D

Did anyone here ever play Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time? That came out before Minority Report and they had this kind of non-touch interface, but they didn't have to wear funny gloves! ;)

BS and unacceptable. That being said, I'm doing fine in the metro-west area of Boston/Worcester. Very rare to have a dropped call. I think this is just a case of a single carrier being unable to handle the volume of iPhone users. It's time to open it up to multiple carriers to spread the love and the cell tower load.

I'm honestly surprised by a lot of you. The whole "no single android phone outsells the iPhone!" argument, is foolish and weak. It's a platform war. You basically get ONE CHOICE with the iPhone. Now it's a great choice, but of course it's going to be a top seller as a result. There are so many good Android choices out there that a single model isn't going to dwarf the others. Since there are, you know, options? As a platform it seems iOS is getting whooped on. Does that not register, or are people that much in denial?
Now myself, I like my iPhone, but come on...in this case we are talking about platforms...So weird...

The iOS platform is holding its own in smartphones and still growing in market share and in dedicated media players, portable media players, and tablets, it isn't even a contest. The iPad, Apple TV, iPod Touch and all the rest of the products on the iOS platform are seriously spanking the crap out of the Android alternatives.
That's one of the reasons why the big developers concentrate more on the iOS platform than Android.

Great shot! I may have to try the black and white conversion on my shots from Cliff Tops. I had no idea what I was doing when it came to photography when we hiked Leconte a couple years ago, so they are nothing special in their original form. I can't wait to get back there sometime in the future. How recently was this taken?

So what is Apple gonna do?
The Android monster is out of control... there are 50+ Android phones out there.
Apple only has 5 phones. Apple sells every phone they make... yet other platforms sell more. It's not a bad thing, bro... I'm on your side :)
I'm sure Apple would love for Mac market share to be higher too... but I think they realized long ago that that's quite a challenge. Yet, the Mac is still kickin' stronger than ever.
At the end of the day... is more market share better? Or more profit?
The only reason Android has so much market share is because Google will license it to anyone.
However... Apple is the only company who makes the iPhone. But they're doing phenomenally well. Check their latest earnings report.
You have to realize one thing. Without market share, company like Apple can not make profit.

exactly, i'm sure the mini store has its uses but i mean compared to the others... i'm sure the itunes recommendations thingo is great for some people, but if you could stream music that is similar to your tastes / the current song ala pandora.com that would be 'saweet' :D

How would an operating system KNOW it is being run in virtualization? It cannot determine the difference from a real computer. We are talking about Vista like it is an artificial intelligence of some kind.
It's not about that, it's about having a "legit" installation. Especially for commercial environments, this means that Vista will only run in legit terms if you buy the Premium versions...

1) Is this a permanent move to a Fall Release of the iPhone?
I'm guessing 'yes' simply because I think "Because they want it to be in the fall" is the one reason for moving it that makes the most sense to me. I think that's the whole point.
3) Does this affect the timing of iOS's release, which has traditionally been released with the new iPhone and has been centered around the iPhone's hardware?
I have less reason to believe it, but I sure hope that iOS 5 still comes out in the summer. I'd like to see iOS updates divorced from hardware updates, just like it is with the Mac.

Er, no. That doesn't follow from my logic at all. The poster was asking for proof that this russian site had any kind of problems with the labels "you have no idea what money goes where" or words to that effect were used. The fact that they are in court proves there is a dispute, not guilt.
I'd be happy to break the argument out for you in formal logic if you are familiar with the logical languages?

How are they different? They are both round with a 3D look and have a triangle with the same alignment and angles in the middle. They even perform the same function, to start playback of media content. Are you really going to nitpick about the colors? That's not different enough, Apple should definetely sue.
